Rosemary McKenry Rosemary McKenry has a Masters Degree in TESOL from the University of Melbourne. After a satisfying career as a teacher and education consultant in a wide variety of settings she now concentrates on working with refugees, especially those who have had little or no education prior to coming to Australia. She has worked in schools across Australia, including remote Indigenous communities and in Papua New Guinea, with students ranging from kindergarten children to elderly adults. Her interest in how second languages are learned developed while teaching in a bilingual inner-city school for many years. Sound English arose from the need to provide adults with suitable reading material. There are many excellent resources available for children, but adults have different interests and needs. Rosemary knows from her experience working with secondary and TAFE students that, in many cases, Sound English will meet their needs too. She has included detailed but simple tutor notes to accompany each book. |
